Crypto Fireside Has Moved From Medium to Ghost!
I’m not sure why, but that dog in a box represents this blog having officially moved to cryptofireside.com via Ghost, but it does, thanks dog.
As mentioned recently, and for those that are new here, I have been planning this move from Medium to Ghost for some time now and it feels great to have finally flicked the switch just mere days ago and finally made it happen. It's been great so far.
The team at Ghost helped me migrate most of the content over as well as pulled the email subscribers into Ghost’s management system.
For some reason, a handful of posts did not make it. I am guessing there must have been some kind of technical glitch in the background and am looking into this as I write this.
I very quickly published the first and then second posts immediately after setting the most basic of things up such as a few aspects around the design (Ghost does most of this, it’s a standard theme I am using), menus, analytics, and more.
There are still a few more things that I need to do, to get it looking and behaving the way that I want but so far so good. Anyone know anything about canonical links and SEO!? Ughhh!
From now on Crypto Fireside content will only be found on cryptofireside.com. This means interviews, how-to’s, reviews, funny-satire pieces, commentary posts, and all the rest of the stuff that you would normally find here will now go to cryptofireside.com.
And so with that comes the question, what do I do with this blog on Medium?
Short answer: I don’t know.
I am still thinking about this and probably, the most likely outcome will be that I use it as a kind of personal blog. But I’m really honestly not sure yet. Convince me Medium, or don't!
What to expect from the new Crypto Fireside?
From the most basic but most important of things, the content, this should not change too much.
Interviews have always been a core slice of content and this will continue.
So will how-to articles, reviews, or the casual piss-take satire piece making fun of this insane circle-jerk crypto world we all try to operate within.
Additionally, I plan on testing out some new types of content, but for that, you will have to stay tuned, so make sure to sign up ;)
Monetization will come to fruition, and so this might mean sponsored posts, affiliate links, or 3rd party and native ads, but me being me, I don’t like clutter which is what brought me to Medium initially and is also the reason I chose Ghost as Mediums replacement and so do not for 1-second think Crypto Fireside is going to be littered with ads, pop-ups, and videos. Not gonna happen.
For those of you that have reached out before regarding business opportunities, contact me here, let’s make something happen.
For right now, I am just working on getting the site indexed, working niggly little issues out, trying to add things I need such as comment sections and social share buttons, and thinking about what I want to do with subscribers.
All fun and games.
Crypto Fireside is growing and this is the main thing. Lots of work to do.
